Why It’s Important To Make Sure Your Car Hood Is Shut Always

The engine, transmission, and other critical components of the automobile are protected by the car hood, also known as the car bonnet in this part of the world, and it plays a significant role in keeping the car functioning efficiently. Designed to be accessed by opening and closing, sometimes it could mistakenly be left open or a faulty catcher could leave the hood not properly secured. This poses a safety issue and must be addressed immediately. These are what may likely happen if a hood is not shut.

First and most importantly air drag can pull the hood out of the car when in motion and pose a very fatal threat to both the driver and other road users.

Damaged Car Hood

When a hood is not properly shut, it compromises the car and make it vulnerable to theft and unauthorized access.

Furthermore, if the car is parked outdoors during inclement weather, and the hood not properly shut, it can make water sip under the hood or other potentially dangerous substances to enter into the vehicle. Even lengthy light exposure would be harmful to plastic and rubber components.
